Exactly What is the Sons of Italy?
OSIA is the largest organization of men, and women, their spouses and children of Italian heritage on the North American continent. The Grand Lodge is comprised of over 150 lodges located throughout 14 districts in the commonwealth alone.
We are striving to enroll Americans of Italian descent under one banner so that our heritage as Americans of Italian ancestry can be preserved and shared with all Americans.
To join, one need only have some Italian ancestry or married to someone of some degree of Italian ancestry. All age groups are welcome.

Networking
Members of OSIA have the opportunity to communicate with business leaders and professionals throughout the state as well as enjoying many social activities such as formal dinner dances, fashion shows, informal parties, banquets, picnics, travel groups, etc.

Scholarships
On the national level, OSIA has provided more than $30,000,000 in scholarship aid since 1968.

Charities
OSIA has raised and donated over 35 million dollars ($35,000,000) since 1965 to find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease, Cooley’s anemia and birth defects. We have also funded innumerable charities and sent money for victims of natural disasters worldwide.

Dante Commission on Culture and Education
The Dante Commission has established and continues to encourage Italian language classes, student exchange cultural programs and sponsoring celebrations and festivals around the state.

Pennsylvania Commission for Social Justice
We constantly strive to eradicate the negative stereotyping of Italian Americans through this anti-defamation arm of OSIA. Also, the CSJ is ever vigilant in its work to ensure the equal rights of all persons in this country.

Insurance
Being a fraternal benefit society we are regulated by the Department of Insurance of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and as such we offer all lines of life insurance including whole life, term, 20 pay life and many others at rates far below those found in the commercial market.
In addition, we offer a complete line of annuity investments and IRAs including the Roth IRA.

With your membership you will receive a copy of the Sons of Italy Times, which is published bi-weekly. The publication includes articles, photographs, issues, events and activities relating to the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania and the local lodges. Members also receive our national magazine, Italian America, a high quality, full color magazine of Italian culture.
